Being a foreigner isn’t always a walk in the park. From an outsider’s point of view, I’m sure my life sounds fabulous, living in the “most romantic city in the world.” But its not all peonies and French kisses, my friends. As nice as it is to be living in a foreign country, sometimes I wonder what it would be like to move back to the States and never have to deal with French residency, endless paperwork, and a tongue-twisting language again. Now that seems like a walk in the park! It’s also times like these when I wonder if I would enjoy living in New York City – an equally challenging metropolis with just as big of a reputation as Paris.

Apparently I’m not the only one who likes to weigh these two cities against each other, either. Vahram Muratyan, a graphic artist that makes his living between Paris and New York, has a great blog that revels in these capital’s clichés. The aptly named Paris vs. New York, a tally of two cities, features poster after poster of comparisons, each tackling a different stereotype. All of his works are wonderfully entertaining (especially for anyone who’s familiar with both cities), and can be bought online, or in book form. They might not help you pick between New York City and Paris, but they’ll definitely make you laugh.

Here are a few of my favorites (okay, more than a few)…
